Local case study in Dublin.
Take a look at the YouTube Demo video to see how a till scan system works.
Approximately 2 years ago our company received an enquiry for a CCTV system from a major multinational builders providers located in Dublin.

The problem → Large scale theft and substantial losses
The reason → Organised crime gang and corrupt staff
Average annual loss → In excess of €500,000 per annum
Loss period → 3+ years
The solution → Our well defined CCTV and till fraud detection systems with audio recording technology

Following the enquiry our team carried out an extensive risk assessment which enabled us to pin point the problem areas.

In our system design proposal we included a till fraud detection system, high speed pan, tilt and zoom (PTZ) control cameras, a specialized close range camera plus covert and overt equipment which was located in strategic areas around the premises to carefully monitor a sophisticated system of theft involving some staff members and private security guards.

What is till scan technology? Till scan is a fraud detection system linking the cash register to the CCTV system at the premises. All cash register transactions are digitally recorded on the system hard drive in detail including the item description and price. The cash register is fitted with an electronic interface (where compatible) to relay the detailed information of each transaction to the CCTV system. An over head pin hole lens camera records the actions of the staff member during the transaction. This system proved very effective for our client.

Our PTZ cameras can operate from a fixed point position or from various positions on poles and brackets. On this occasion we mounted the cameras on the building and had them set up to carry out preset tours of an area with predetermined times set for each position. The cameras were also controlled by the use of joystick controllers. Alternatively, the cameras can be controlled by the use of motion sensors for instant recording in any zone where motion is detected. You can view a PTZ camera in action here on youtube.com: Tracking Camera

In addition, we mounted a specialised camera on the building using a 2 – 50mm lens, dedicated on the gate, in order to view the gate at close range at all times.
Finally we installed covert cameras throughout the premises which had audio and video recording options. Covert cameras provide a simple yet cost effective solution to suspicious activity in any situation.

They are quick and easy install. Discreetly placed, they provide high quality footage of any events taking place. Covert cameras come fitted in a wide range of common items such as clocks, picture frames, smoke alarms and motion sensors. With their pin hole lens design they can also be concealed in void spaces like false ceilings etc.

Within a 4 week period we identified 7 employees and 4 private security guards from a reputable security company who were involved in the unauthorised and systematic removal of goods from the premises for personal gain. The 7 employees, that included 1 manager, were also involved in the misappropriation of cash from the tills generally following cash transactions without receipts.
Please take a look at the You Tube Demo video showing how a covert camera works:
The employees and private security guards subsequently lost their jobs once the Gardai were involved and there is a case pending against the private security company for breach of contract.

Our systems solved the problem and to the present day are providing high quality, verifiable evidence and ongoing monitoring for our client.
